Day 4

Comment to someone you haven't ever interacted with before or introduce yourself to someone you've interacted with and friend/follow them. Afterwards, leave a comment in this post with the equivalent of "I did it!"

It doesn't have to be anything complex - it can be feedback for a fanwork or discussing something you might have in common or even simply admiring their icon. The point is to reach out to someone you normally wouldn't and connect with them, even if it's only for the briefest moment.

I met and friended [livejournal.com profile] cyn_ful and am very much looking forward to getting to know her more.

Day 5

In your own space, talk about a creator. Show us why you think they are amazing. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I guess I kind of said it already in my mod intro, but my favorite thing about fandom is the people in it, and they way we're all connected because we love our very different things in kind of the same way. Today is about celebrating people who are creating things in your fandom - icons, podfics, stories, art, picspams, meta, organizing challenges, setting up watch parties, whatever. Celebrate a person/the people who are putting awesome things out into your fandom, and - if you're comfortable - leave us a link so we can check them out too.

There are so many people I could choose to spotlight for this challenge, it's hard for me to choose one. So I'm going to spotlight the one that has been my greatest ally this past year and call out a few more who I just feel moved to say, hey, I like you!

My friend and co-mod of two communities [livejournal.com profile] hp_darkarts and [livejournal.com profile] harrybang, [livejournal.com profile] writcraft is who I'm going to focus on for right now. She's a brilliant writer, poet, moderator, meta writer, collaborator, comment-a-thon hoster, cheerleader, alpha reader, britpicker, artist, fandom hostess... I think you get the picture.

I think this year my favourite fanwork of hers that she's created (and has been revealed) was Sundowning, written for the exchange fest at [livejournal.com profile] hd_tropes. It explores early onset alzheimer's disease and is so beautiful and poetic in crafting, that it will remain in my memories for a very long time. She's also very fun to work with and is professional and kind in all modly duties, definitely somebody I respect.

So, hats off to writ!

I need to mention a few more people too, just because I must. (and there are more than I can list, so please don't think I don't love you if you're not on here)

[livejournal.com profile] capitu reader/commenter, reccer, layout designer, banner maker extraordinaire.
[livejournal.com profile] kedavranox writer, shower singer, moderator, beta reader, cheerleader, educator, and number one fan of Tom Hiddleston
[livejournal.com profile] saintgilbert writer, artist, botany scholar, fan mix compiler, and blogger!
[livejournal.com profile] lordhellebore writer, artist, beta reader, moderator, and friend.
[livejournal.com profile] dawnlett writer, artist, student, convention roommate, fun and fabulous cheerleader!

and then two people not yet on my friends list that I hope will accept the friend requests I'm planning to send. These two filled prompts at the community [livejournal.com profile] kink_n_squick with fanworks that really struck me. [livejournal.com profile] reikokatsura for Heliotrope and [livejournal.com profile] ailea for Intercrural ... Formal recs to be posted soon!
