I will agree with you there. Spiders give me the heebie jeebies, but I'm very glad they exist to help keep the population of other creepy crawlers in check.
I'm sending you a link to the google doc I'm brainstorming in. It's in an infant stage atm, and I have one other alpha reader involved, but will take all the info and insight I can get. And crit too! Don't hold back if I've got something wrong.
