Hols fic recs part ONE

mabOh my word! So much talent this year in the last year of ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
hd_holidays. I haven't finished reading all the fic yet, but I will as soon as reveals go up. I do have some recs to share before reveals that I simply adore and must squee over. The first six are under the cut.
I'm writing up six more to post in the next few days and I'm sure I'll have at least six more after that to share by the time I catch up on my reading. Oh... and in case anybody wonders why the best fic of the year isn't on my rec list, that's because I wrote it!

The Ties That Bind
Why I loved this fic: It had such a tender element to it. Harry and Draco learning to live together for the sake of Teddy. At the same time they grow and mature and come to terms with the idea that what they are able to create together, just might be exactly what Teddy and they need: a family. I love how the angst between Harry and Draco keeps them bickering, while the UST draws them together almost like fate. It’s fabulous.

Why I love this: It’s art and it’s gorgeous, but more than that, the drabble that goes with it just reaches right inside my heart and twists it all up. It makes me feel the pain that Draco feels and this AU is so brilliant, I just can’t even wrap my head around the words to describe it. I LOVE this hols submission soooo much and cannot wait until reveals. I have a new person tostalkfriend.

Why I loved it: Oh my goodness, this fic is full of all the feels! It’s sad and intense and totally like ... I could see it happening. The Ministry of Magic getting high and mighty over regulations and protections, stepping into people’s lives etc... But Draco longs to hold onto the happiness he’s found, he just hopes Harry is strong enough to hold on as well.

Why I loved it: This fic is to die for! Draco thinks he knows it all, that he’s got it all figured out, the secret to a happy life even when he’s a gay man married to a woman... not until Harry comes into his life and heart does he realise exactly how much he’s been missing, how much more to him there actually is. I love that even though there is infidelity in this fic, neither of the wives are vilified and the cheater’s actions are not made light-hearted. It’s real, it’s hard, and it’s lovely. I adore older and wiser HD fic where the boys are fathers and yet, they still really don’t get it until they finally do! *does that even make sense?*
Trust me. Read it! It’s fabulous!

Why I loved it: All the feels! All the wonderful wonderful twisted mess that emotions are. This is a gorgeous story. I am not one for threesomes usually, especially not if there’s het involved, but this is different. Ginny’s getting off, she’s in charge of the entire exchange. It’s her idea to watch Harry and Draco together, but wow... How can Harry not [have that] ever again? Read it! It’s brilliant!

Why I loved it: Holy smokes! Just look! You’ll understand. The muted colour, the position, Draco’s ass! Harry’s face! It’s priceless! If I could, I would frame it and display it in my living room!
