After Halloween Update! Hello LJ friends!

Hello Livejournal. I hope you all had a stellar Halloween.

I thought I'd make another update post because if I don't, I'll just float off even more.

I don't feel much like talking about all the stuff I'm dealing with day to day. It's not hugely awful or anything, but it is making me realize that I am still struggling with ADHD and focus, to the point I've pared down my responsibilities enormously and still struggle to get shit done.

Blah.

Enough about that. I want to share some fun pictures. Halloween was yesterday and I did nothing more than answer the door a few times (my daughter answered the rest), but I got to do it in costume! Putting on a costume is totally an adventure on its own for me. Unfortunately, nobody in my family can take flattering photos. So, Selfies it is!

This was my second year dressing up like Sally Ragdoll (from Nightmare Before Christmas).

I'm just gonna stick these pics under a tag and then I have to get back to poking my brain and catching the words that come out of it. I have a deadline and I have to break through this block. No excuses.

















Whew... That was fun. If you dressed in costume, I'd love to see! Wish me luck and muse juice, please.

I did end up breaking that particular block and met my deadline. It took a complete change of scene and writing by hand in a tiny little notebook (no internet distractions) and then transcribing it.

I'm going to have to remember to try that again the next time a block hits me. :P

I did it! I met the deadline. Had to remove myself from my house and go off to my 24 hour coffee shop.. then I wrote the whole fic out by hand in a tiny notebook. Amazing what not having the option of clicking another tab does for my focus. :P

You look fabulous, the red hair - though fake - suits you. We didn't do much Helloween. Only the little one had an all-day Helloween party at the kindergarten and she chose to dress like Zorro who was disguised as a bat. Batzo? However, she insisted on being a ghost... ;)

Thank you! I really do love the hair color of this wig (the wig turned out better quality than I thought it would when I bought it last year.) Dyeing my hair on the other hand... Too much work.

*It is currently blue, but considering I only have a little bit of hair on one side of my head, that's not nearly as daunting a task* :P

OMG.. That sounds soooo cute, your little one's costume. I think you have a creative child on your hands and I think that's the best thing ever.

I met the deadline, thank goodness. XD Often, figuring out how to work around a block takes far longer than actually doing it.

I think it's the time of year. Last year was a complete fluke for me (as I typically go into hibernation mode this month) when I wrote a mega huge ass fic in a new fandom. This year... hibernation mode is back. *shrugs*

Thankfully, I was able to break yesterday's block and finished the fic thing in time. Squirreled away in a coffee shop and wrote it all out in the oldschool way... pen and paper. ;)

I did finally break through my 3 week block last night and met my deadline. Took coffee shop (instead of the mab cave) and writing by hand to focus my brain... But hey, I'm totally okay with that. And … I'm going to remember it in case it will work again next time.

I am working my way through all the life shit. Luckily I found my focus the day I posted this (off in a coffee shop and using pen and paper to avoid the distraction of the internet) ... So I made the deadline!

That one, anyway. ... I have a WiP that I originally intended to finish by May ... and haven't updated in a month that is now tugging at my conscience and demanding I pay attention. It's hard to be creative on a regular and constant basis... Seems like creativity starts getting passive aggressive in the form of writer's block to illustrate that it will not be taken for granted. :P

Thank you! I have so much fun playing with costumes (and always have) ... It's more fun than it ever was in the past because of being able to share with other like minds on the internet.

My desire to fall into cosplay mode kicked into full gear after I did Sally. Now I'm collecting pieces for another character and more fun doing it that should be allowed. :P
