Notes: I wrote this fic last year for an a/b/o fest and it was HARD! This (creature/mates) cliche isn't my usual cuppa, though I find it hot as hell, and I found it a real challenge to write it in a way that worked for me. Now, it's my most successful fic on Ao3 (mind boggles) and with the added bonus of the gorgeous cover art by citrus_lime, I hope it makes for a successful podfic.
Author's summary: It's not easy to make a living when your past misdeeds colour your life, but when the saviour of the wizarding world offers a possible way out, Draco Malfoy isn't stupid enough to let the opportunity pass.

LOVED THIS! Your reading is beautiful, as usual -- and I hadn't actually read this story before! :D I'm not a big fan of A/B/O either, but I actually loved it here! ♥ I can see why this story is so popular. You did something very different with the trope here, and it was such a joy to read! :)

I really liked Draco's voice in this, he's so desperate and ashamed of the lycanthropy thing (I LOVE HOW HE EVEN CALLS IT THAT! :'D), but at the same time, God, he's a survivor. And a really stubborn one at that! And I love that about him ♥ I loved how the boys remained human (and not just physically, but inside their heads as well!) I loved reading Draco's thoughts opposing his instincts even when his body couldn't :')

I-I think this is my first time hearing your podfic? Dear lord I think I experienced ASMR on the first word *lies down* You have such nice voice! Though my face burned on the naughty parts eheh... You have such soothing and nice voice, kinda makes my brain relax and, I don't know, I just want to put my head on nearest pillow and let your voice guide me to a peaceful dream. ;_;

I do admit I hide a bit at the mention of The Silver Quill. That was really my first step into becoming a not-quite-bad writer, but when I look over it now, I see so many places I wish I had done it differently or not rushed, or just thought out a bit more. :P

Still, without it as a stepping stone, I'd still be in the throes of writing bad!fic.

Ok you and Nat write great Draco characters. I love when he's damaged and sympathetic and I really felt for him throughout this piece. And then the sex, very hot. The knotting at the end had me squirming in the best way possible.

My husband (gay boys here) says thank you, that got me way worked up and he reaped the benefits. Ok, TMI.
