Four More assorted Recs

mabAll I have to say is that all of these fanworks moved me in one way or another. There's a transgender fic, a couple of other interesting genderbending works, and the prisoner fic that I loved despite myself. I encourage you to give them a go, even if it may be out of your comfort zone, except if you have triggers. Please watch the warnings.

Title: Neither Stone nor Iron

Summary: Ron becomes Bellatrix' prisoner, but it's her husband who takes a special liking to him.

Why I loved it: This fic is not for those who cannot read non-con! It is very much a prisoner fic, but through all that is a fascinating portrayal of the fucked up marriage of Bellatrix and Roldolphus. I was alarmed to find that I found much of what was happening hot in a very twisted way, but not in a get-off-on-it way, more like... a can't-stop-watching-and-thank-god-this-is-fiction sort of way. It's fascinating and incredibly dark. If you aren't squicked or triggered easily, I suggest giving it a shot. I really liked it.

Why I loved it: The fic is short, told in a series of snapshots (day in the life) style and breaks my heart. It covers the pain a transgender person faces in several aspects of life and then confronts the trials one would face not being able to come out, even with magic, for fear of abandonment. It's beautiful and I wish so much to read more! Give it a go. Don't let the mentality of (I don't ship that, or not my thing) hold you back from this one. It's a subject that needs more representation and exposure!

Why I loved it: More and more lately, I've been fond of genderswap fics and art. This art is H/D as women and I think the artist is brilliant at capturing their tension in female forms. More than me loving this as a Harry Potter fanwork though, it's gorgeous art all on its own.
