Leaky Con and Fandom Squee UPDATE!

Leaky con is over and I'm not coming down yet!

*warnings for excessive use of ridiculous adjectives ahead* Proceed at your own risk.



So many brilliant, lovely, fantasticly fantastic fannish things are happening that it's all I can do to hold onto my hair and revel in the squee!

For those of you who do not know yet, I have joined writcraft on the mod team for hp_darkarts and we have a lot of dreamily dark plans for the rest of this year and are seeking input as to what you would like to see in the coming year. Take part in the poll: Here.

Next. Leaky con is over and done, but I have a million memories to keep it alive in my mind until the next fan convention I can get to. At present, that will likely be lubricus in 2014.

I have some pictures to share. I won't post pictures of the lovely lj people I was hanging out with in the slash suite to protect privacy, but I will share a picture of me cosplaying as Moaning Myrtle...







And then, I was so blessed as to meet a couple of new-to-me fandom people and claim them as my own. The lovely dawnlett was my room mate and together we picked up and adopted Lacey, who does not yet have an lj, *stern frown* but I'm working at convincing her that Tumblr is NOT where it's at!

She's made one. Go and friend her at lrose20. Just starting out and a wee bit shy (as most of us were at one point or another) but super sweet and adorably hot!

dawnlett also drunk!drew me a chibi!Harry, which I am entirely too pleased with. I ADORE fan artists and will drink wine from their belly buttons if they will consent! *yeah... er... that's sort of bizarre. Please pay me no mind, I claim convention induced delirium*



And then the wildly talented samtastic4 drew me a lovely gift of lactating!Harry feeding his baby when I mentioned I may have a wee bit of a kink there. >.>

If you don't believe the awesomeness of her art, you need to read the explosively insightful art critiques that chaeche has written for Sam's tumblr page. Samtatic-art and please heed the warnings of lack of political correctness in the critique.



So yes. That was my week. I've also finished editing and submitting my third podfic for the hp_podfic_fest and am now working on my hd_tropes assignment, Challenge fic for hp_silencio, and recording for a collaborative effort for pod_together

I recommend all of these mentioned communities to any of my f-listers who may be interested.

So if you made it through all of that, leave me a note, a hug, a snog, a smack to the face to bring me back to reality, or whatever!

I don't get offended easily. actually, I'm more likely to offend others with my no-bullshit attitude. And actually, betaing is helping me de-stress, in a weird way. There's nothing better than breaking down writing and asking why this? How that? WTF? Then keeping some parts and changing others. Sadly, I don't get to do that much with students unless they specifically ask for it (of course, by uni they're pretty confident with their writing, even if they shouldn't be). Mostly I just get to toss around ideas, etc, with them.
