mab | Scream another Scream

I tell the tale of the Drake,
lives in the land of Sleeping Wake
and feeds upon those in heartache.
Travelers wander in the deep,
in the land of Waking Sleep
swallowed by the darkness whole
by the forest and its knoll.
Now in which land can they be?
Are they trapped or are they free?
Beware the Drake beyond the stream,
or hear a scream, another scream.

I am waiting by the lake
in the land of Sleeping Wake
Across the land of Waking Sleep.
Forever more my heart shall weep.
Alas, the boat; its oars are lost
and I am trapped within the frost.
The Drake demands an awful cost.
I hold it now, my glassy pearl
and watch its iridescent swirl-
When from the dark a dragon's head
pokes through the foliage, I turn my head.
I scream in vain and fall from bed.
I’m dismantled at my seams
and I scream another scream.
